Hatta is an oasis area near the Oman border. The area, where Al-Hajar mountains merge with dunes located at the 300 m above sea level.
On the tops of mountains along the valleys located small villages with houses built in mountain rock. The harvest, grown by locals, going from man-made terraces, which descend from their houses down to the gorge. One of these villages offers complex of historic structures, showing products of folk art, weapons, national clothes. At village weddings you can see and hear traditional songs and dances of the people inhabiting this area.
Magnificent Hatta landscapes will not leave you indifferent. There are sand dunes plain with numerous umbrella trees, basalt reefs millions years ago, lying on the ocean floor.
Hatta, with its numerous water channels and the proximity to the old village, creates an impression of the area which in the long-past times, was strategic. And this is a really important area that connects the Emirates and Sohar.
Restored ancient mosque, the Governor House, forts and watchtowers always open for all tourists. In creation of the Hatta ethnography center were invested 10 million AED.
