The United Arab Emirates is washed by Persian Gulf in the west and by Oman gulf in the east. Length of coastline in the UAE makes about 700 km. Dubai occupies only about 10% of the coast, and only small part of this territory reserved for beaches.
To keep Dubai attractive as a place for beach rest, the government of UAE realizes the coastline increase program building artificial islands in the coastal waters.
The first of them in the form of a palm tree in Jumeirah area is already constructed. Palm Jebel Ali, palm trees in Deira, the «WORLD» project of islands in the form of earth map are under construction. Artificial channels, the biggest of which will be 75 km length «Arabian channel», are under construction too.
This program will provide access to water for a large part of the developer projects planned to realize in Dubai.

Visiting Dubai beaches
From morning and till sunset you can enjoy excellent Dubai beaches with soft snowy sand and clear turquoise water.
On weekdays Dubai beaches not very popular. The flow of people increases on Fridays and Saturdays, because locals join the tourists on the beaches. Usual Dubai beaches visitors are European people which work in the international corporations located in Dubai, and also owners of the local real estate. People of Dubai – Arabians haven’t traditions of beach rest that’s why there are no a lot of local people on beaches. It is quite possible to leave personal things on the sand and go for a swim, walk along seacoast or visit coastal cafe. Dubai beaches are not deep and see water gets warm so good, though water temperature in December and in January is a little cool. The best season for the rest on Dubai beaches is from September till May. While visiting Dubai beaches in summer months, obligatory use sunburn cream with maximum protection and avoid stay on the sun from 11:00 till 15:00. Many resting people in summer time get sun bathes only under umbrellas and walking on heat sand in slippers. There is very intensive sun in summer and to swim in the sea is better in headdress and in sunglasses. Swimming in warm sea like a SPA procedure. Good alternative are numerous cooled swimming pools which are in practically in all housing estates.

Active rest on Dubai beaches
On the open Jumeirah Beach Residents located near hotels Sheraton, Hilton and Le Royal Meridien you can rent a surf board, kayaks, canoes, water bicycles, windsurfing,sailing catamaran, go for a ride on a boat, a banana, a water ski and a parachute. Driving water motorcycles for a safety reason is allowed only in specialized sport clubs.
Beaches Palm Beach Jumeirah
Beaches are situated on man-made island in the form of a palm tree at Jumeirah coast. Actually Palm Beach beaches are private beaches of housing estates and private country houses, and also hotels located on external perimeter of the Palm tree. Probably visiting Palm Beach beaches in the future will be available only for people living there, but now you have a great opportunity to visit beach of Shoreline residential complex which situated on the Palm tree on the right side.
Dubai hotels beaches
Beaches of Dubai hotels are situated on the coastline, they are good arranged of green spaces, equipped by open pools, chaise-lounges, sun-protection umbrellas, showers. On beach hotels territory are located cafes, bars, restaurants, where you can buy an alcoholic drinks. Having paid for an enter, you will get beach towels, and for the whole day long you can use a hotel infrastructure, including pool, a gym, a sauna and athletic fields.
Jumeirah Beach Park
Jumeirah Beach Park is located in Jumeirah-2 area on Jumeirah Beach Road. It is opened from 8.00 till 22.00 and has a paid entrance. On Saturday, Sunday and Monday – entrance only for women with children till 5 years. Coastal length is 900 meters. Beach offers about 13 ha well-groomed territory imitating scenic oasis in the desert, with hills, plain, palms and flowerbeds , spacious and beautiful lawns and stone garden. Park equipment: places for barbecue, volleyball, beach beds, towels, umbrellas, locker rooms and shower rooms. There is a play zone, which is divided into three parts and is meant for both children and adults, as well as a scene for different shows and concerts. Also there is a cafe, where you can enjoy fast and cheap meal.
Al Mamzar Beach Park
Al Mamzar Beach Park is located at the border of Dubai and Sharjah and occupies the entire peninsula. Entrance is paid. Work time is 8.00-22.30 from Saturday till Sunday and 8.00-23.30 on Thursdays and Fridays. On Wednesdays entrance is allowed only for women with children until 8 years. The park have sizes : 500 m. width and 1500 m. length. Coastline length is 3600 meters, 1700 of which occupies snow-white sandy beaches. Breakwaters divide the coastline on five bays, which form the beaches – four from Persian Gulf side and one from strait side between Dubai and Sharjah. In Al Mamzar Park complex there are paid swimming-pool, toilets, lockers rooms, showers and shopping pavilion. Pay special attention to beach houses, which equipped with conditioners and barbeque grounds, if you are planning to visit park with family or with company, take care about their rent. The central part of the complex occupied by well-planned and well-groomed park with woody fortress and amphitheater for different shows. There are cafe, arcade gaming hall, children play ground, skateboard ground and sale rows. To distant park parts you will be delivered by locomotive plying the lanes. It is possible to ride on water motorcycles in the area of Water Park.

Open beach Jumeirah Beach Residents
The beach is located along Jumeirah Beach Walk quay between breakwaters of Dubai yacht marina. Length of the coastline is about two kilometers. Along a coastline is begun creation of the several organized beach complexes for locals and visitors located nearby of skyscrapers, the open parking is already constructed. There are no locker rooms and showers, because basic visitors are residents of coastal houses and hotels. East highlight is given by Arab walking along the beach with pair of camels, on which children like to ride and tourists take photos with. If you plan to stay in JBR or Dubai Marina, this beach will become a basic place of your rest. If you plan to rent a car you will be able to reach beaches located far away, including located in other Emirates.

Also there is not big Suqeim Public Park nearby.
