Shopping is an integral part of Dubai. Most of the tourists from different countries visit this Arab city precisely because of shopping. Dubai offers a huge space for shopping, with a huge selection of goods whose prices are much lower than in other countries. Dubai is considered to be “a paradise for buyers.”
Clothes
For people who loves the world’s best brands, doors of most famous malls in Dubai are open: Emirates Mall, Dubai Mall, Ibn Battuta Mall, Wafi City, BurJuman, Merkato Mall, and many others. Wherever you are staying in Dubai, some of these malls will be somewhere nearby. Cheap, but good-quality clothes are sold in the area of Karama (here represented manufacturers mainly from Asia countries) and in markets of Bar Dubai and Deira. Quite a lot of nice shops you will find in Satwa area. An elegant and expensive clothes you can buy in the shops, located along the waterfront of the Deira bay. As an alternative of shops and boutiques, you can contact one of the tailors, who will sew your clothes one to one, using an image of the fashion magazine or even photo.
Electronic appliances
Mostly, those who come to Dubai, do not come here for clothes, the bulk of buyers eager to buy electronics and latest generation photographic equipment of manufacturers such as Sony, Panasonic, Canon, etc. When buying equipment, check about the warranty, is it valid at your country.
Fabrics
There is a huge selection of different fabrics, which can be bought at markets in Bur Dubai and then can be put to use, using services of tailors.
Gold
Gold prices are one of the lowest in the world, but they are set with reference to the value of gold at the International Gold Exchange. Gold in Dubai is 18, 21, 22 and 24 carat. Evaluation of gold products is determined by its weight and only after that the cost of the work and design is added, the price of which depends on complexity.
Perfumery
In Dubai you will find a huge selection of perfume, buying that you can be 100% sure that this is not fake. New items are appearing on the next day after their premieres in Europe and America. But local perfume production cannot be ignored. This is a fairly unique perfume – with the world of true East smells. If you want to buy a carpet, then you should go to the Baniyas Square, because there are many special carpets shops. Here you’ll find carpets from Iran, Pakistan, China and Central Asia. But notice for yourself that buying an expensive carpet requires the participation of a specialist.
Local Souvenirs
It is something that can be kept for memory of visiting Dubai. Perhaps you will like the following original local products: Long-nosed pot (Dall); Arabian curved sword or curve broad dagger with patterned sheath (Khanjar); Rosary (Sabha) made of different materials – from olive stones to precious stones; Antique rifle; Accessories for falconry; Figures made of white “soap stone” (steatite); Sailboats models made of wood, silver or other materials. There are official trade agents of world-known brands, such as Longines, Omega, Rolex, Breitling, Alfred Dunhill, Tag, Philippe Charbol etc. Otherwise, you can always buy a fake made in China.

Almost every tourist who arrives in Dubai, certainly comes to the local duty free shop, which is located in the Dubai International Airport. The zone of free trade is available around the clock. The total area of Dubai Duty Free is about 9000 square meters and ranks first in the world among similar zones. Every year the number of people willing to make a transit stop in Dubai airport increases. Dubai Duty Free has several international awards for quality of service.
